Silvia’s performance group, Amika Dance Company, is starting 2012 strong!

Amika Dance Company started with its current team in September of 2011 but has already performed at several DC venues.

In 2012 the group is lined up for a number of appearances in the DC area and currently applying for salsa congresses around the country.

The group is young and vibrant and the choreographies are fun to watch.

Amika Dance Company’s first performance of the year is at the Sweetheart Salsa Lesson Event on Valentine’s Day, February 14^th. The event will start with an all-level salsa lesson by Silvia at 6pm and will end with Amika Dance Company performing.

This event is only one hour. The address is DC Dance Collective, 4908 Wisconsin Ave. NW, DC 20016.

The cost for the event (includes lesson for 2 + performance) is only $20.

Our next performance for this year is on February 18^th at Rendezvous Club, 11910 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, MD  20852. Workshops followed by dancing start at 6:30pm. We’ll be performing later during the party.

Level: Intermediate
Hello again with another intermediate turn pattern. This move is very commonly used and it’s easy to lead and follow. At the some time it looks and feels like it flows so take it and use it as much as you can. I am now thinking you should be able to pick up some things without them being broken down in much detail. At this level you should know the basic rules of salsa and you should focus on building your vocabulary. Let me know what you think and thanks for your great comments as always!
